Light and smokey but does not quite live up to the Hakushu 12. The burn on the palate is evident though not so much on the nose That said this is still wonderful, refreshing and with such balanced peat it’s a crowd pleaser

First nose is strong with a burn but mellows as you go and the oranges stand out... Nice. On the palate at this ABV the burn is still there but it has a beautifully rounded sweetness and spice. What's an amazing whisky !

Peat and floral on the nose and strong prat on the palate but finishes better. A little one dimensional adding a drop or 2 improves it.

Vegetal on the nose and palate with strong peat. Thought would have mellowed with age but others may like this more . Adding a a few drops opens it up nicely but loses complexity. Still a good dram but not so much for the price

Strong on the nose with banana and vanilla. On the palate it's smooth, got some spice with the wine characteristics present. The finishing rounded and nice.

Soft sweet peat and fruit on the nose and amazing on the palate sweet complex with a little pepper . My new favourite laproaig right after the 18.
