Notes of plum and ginger. It reminds me of Macallan 12. One of my new favorites.

Being a fan of Scotch vs whiskey, especially not a fan of Bourbon, I am drawn to Rye Whiskey like a moth to a flame for unknown reasons. Fantastic aroma, and almost overwhelming taste, I have discovered this local Iowa Rye Whiskey has no competition as its a class of its own. I can't stop sniffing it, just like I can't stop sniffing Macallan 12. Completely different aroma, but equally addictive. A good burn and a pleasant aftertaste makes me crave more. A nice direction away from Scotch.

Nose - Chocolate, brown sugar, tobacco, dried fruit. Taste - Oaky, spicy front, sherry, good burn, slightly smokey finish

Do I smell tobacco? Like a fine cigar? I am mesmerized by the aroma. Chocolate, toffee, red fruit, deep Sherry. Superb whisky

Exquisite aroma, toffee and chocolate. Green Spot is my favorite. This one is just as good but smoother. The aroma makes you just want to breathe it in repeatedly. Fabulous whisky.

Very spicy and a good bite to it. Slightly smoky but not overwhelming. Sweet fruity vanilla aftertaste that lingers forever which allows you plenty of time to enjoy it.

Sweet, spicy and fruity. Green Spot is my favorite and this is a close 2nd with a little more heat to it.

Fantastic Aroma, dried fruit, slight smoke, tobacco or and/or leather? Medium burn, sweet aftertaste. Fantastic flavor. Reminds me of Yellow spot with a better burn. One of my new favorites. I haven't had a bad experience with ANY Powers whiskey.

First let me say that my experience with peat and smokey Scotch has not been pleasant. A friend of mine brought some of The Ultimate 10 year over for tasting and he wanted to finish with it. After half a dozen Scotch and Irish whiskys, we tried the Ardbeg. Wow, so smoky but it was not overwhelming, and the fruity finish was excellent. I waited a bit and I wanted more. I took another sip and another, and it was exponentially fantastic. I could not believe I was enjoying it so much. I was so impressed with it, I wrote it down to get a bottle of my own.
