Similar smell to other balcones products, must be the barrels or climate. Like bbq sauce and cherry cola on the nose. Some chocolateyness and herbaciousness to the palate.

Rich sweet bbq on the nose, nice oaky tannins on the finish, just a great all rounder

Leaps and bounds better than ardbeg 19. Such an unbelievably juicy and creamy taste, while also being heavily peated. Far more peated than i would have expected for a 25 year. Incredible pour that goes down veeery easy.

Incredibly good. Palate is dark dark dark, molasses, chocolatey, but still having a characteristic four roses flavor. More oaky than fruity. But no bitter oak at all, just a beautifully balanced pour.

Sweet but also quite spicy. Reminds me more of weller full proof than antique.

Maybe an obvious take, but this really tastes like more aged eagle rare lol. Like very similar flavor profile with some enhanced richness, sweetness, and interesting funky oak notes. However, i dont like eagle rare standard, i find it a little unpleasant with a dry bitter oak and a grapiness i dislike. While i like this better than standard eagle rare (2.75) i definitely wouldnt say i love it (3.25). Unbelievable how much money this goes for….

Just tried another oz. Absolutely delicious but as a scotch drinker, i swear im drinking a sherry casked or wine casked speyside. It has those exact fruit notes and flavors to me. Most scotch like bourbon ive ever tried. If youre a bourbon drinker and love this, do yourself a favor and try some unpeated sherry or port casked highland scotches. More similar than youd think.
