Tastes

Nose - Big strong burning campfire with honeyed oak, damp grains and earth, salt and lemon cheesecake. Palate - Classic Laphroaig's honey coated wood and sea salt, maybe smoked fish, firey black pepper and oodles of tart sweet lemonade with dried tobacco leaves. Finish - Smoked brisket, faint olives, antiseptic iodine and bread. Really bold and unapologetic, silky smooth especially considering the high ABV, but with beautiful layers of complexity. It's great with or without a few drops of water

Salted citrus butterscotch. Nose - Sweet butterscotch with mild brine in the background, some smokey shrubs, dried berries, salted almonds and oak. Palate - Opens with sweet honey and salt that fades into a mild yuzu, then citrus rind and smoke, faint ginger spice and a flash of powdered flat-tops chocolate. Finish - long and satisfying. Starts with plain unsalted almonds and 60% dark chocolate, lingering smoke that soon fades into a long steady flavor of dried berries and unsalted nuts.
