The nose is surprisingly malty with some light peat. It's a sweet peat and malt on the palate also but with a sweet grain type of sweetness. Finish is fairly nice but much of the same flavors. On further visits I get a sickly sweet finish that I don't care for. For the price it is punching above it's weight and is preferred over JW.20.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is sweet and musty. Palate has a round Sweet cherry note that gives way to a musty and woody note. Sometimes the back end reminds me of opening a strong wheatbread. Adding water gives the same affect. Finish is tannic and bitter. This is a good classic wheated bourbon for a moderate price. I tried this to remember it and get into Maker's other expressions!30.0 USD per Bottle

Leadslingers Fighting Spirit Rye
Rye — Oklahoma, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2020 (edited February 9, 2021)Nose is very dill like with some sweetness. Palate is rich with dill, anise or black liquorice, and green grass. Finish is quick bit still pretty much dill. A good rye but a little young tasting overall. Local made in Moore. A bit of water makes it sweeter but it's still pretty dill forward.38.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose comes forward salty and butter. Almost like an Irish but it has more alcohol heat. Later I got fresh green pears that were slightly unripe. Palate is the salty savory of buttered popcorn. Some of the buttered bread of Irish without the sweetness; still lots of heat. Finish zooms by as a spicy buttered bread and alcohol. Overall it's ok, but nothing that gets my attention. My first Japanese and I do plan to get into others eventually.30.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is malt musty up front with peat behind. As the dram sits the mustiness fades and the peat comes forward. Some occasional cereal notes. The palate is more cereal and peat, with brown sugar and malasses. The finish is exeptional. Smokey brown sugar in oatmeal that lasts for days. Some water makes the nose more malty and sweet and brings some very savory complexity to the palate. My first taste of Indian whisky and I look forward to trying some without the Scotch blended in! Either way, a really great and interesting pick for the price.80.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is an ashy peat smoke with floral notes surrounding it. Some of the salt from Ardbeg but muted, more sweet than some other expressions. Palate is very dry and ashy at first but develops into a muted and sweeter form of the usual richness. Finish is pretty long and ashy/savory. Second visit with some water brings forward more of the ham like savory flavors that I usually get from Ardbeg but with a sweet glaze. Overall it's a great strong Islay for a entry price. I personally still prefer the 10 yo for a bit more cash.38.0 USD per Bottle
