This bourbon shows promise -there are good flavors here, but the youth of the juice is hiding it in barrel tannins and their astringency. The sweet corn shows through, but i think they need to age it a little more or bottle it at 100 proof to really let it shine. I'm excited to see what they do nextHomewood Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District/Riverfront

This was a cask strength 121.6 proof store pick. The nose was overwhelmingly cacao or baking chocolate and the palate is malty funk and dark chocolate fighting over the room in your mouth not occupied by baking spices. There's almost a hint of spicy peppers like those found in spicy Mexican chocolate stouts. It seems most of these notes can be attributed to the stout barrel, as woody bitterness and chocolate overtones dominate the finish.

Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or Sauternes Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 21, 2024Brings the spiciness of the Lasanta with the sweet, buttery richness of the Quinta Ruban while still allowing some of the delicate notes found in the 10 to still get through. Vanilla and caramel, or a butterscotch fullness on the palate. The finish and mouthfeel is oily and lingering. Very nice pour.Total Wine & More -
Port sweetness on the first smell, that quickly disappears into the malt. Slightly less spicy and more well rounded than Lasanta, but spicier and richer than the 10. There is a mineral bent to the palate that is matched by the woody barrel, with maybe dark fruit notes (fig?) drifting by. Tannins linger with a slight sweet smoky spice.Total Wine & More

Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 21, 2024Sweet sherry and leathery barrel on the nose, a lot of spicy malt and woody barrel tannin on the palate. Much spicier and fuller than the 10, but less rounded. Barrel and spice bury the fruity notes that can be found in the 10, but the finish sticks around quite a bit longer.Total Wine & More -
Sweetness and stone fruit (pear?) with a lightness that matches the rounded and smooth palate. Light malt, a mineral touch and a spice that suggests its highland origin. A bit of barrel comes through, providing a bit of bitterness on the finish. The finish is not strong or long, but the drink is well-rounded and pleasant, especially at its price point.Total Wine & More

George Dickel 15 Year Tennessee Single Barrel
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 11, 2024Dark fruit smell that's accompanied by a slight acetone note that doesn't detract from the experience. Sweet cherry, artificial grape and leather on the palate that turns into a woody and not unpleasant bitter and drying finish
