I can't believe the low scores this excellent rum has received. This rum is GOOD. It doesn't carry the amount of molasses flavor as many rums....it's there though. This rum is actually very well balanced with all the "traditional" rum flavors appearing one after another in a harmony of taste delight. It doesn't have the "funk" of some other aged rums...Bacardi 8 comes to mind. The oak in this is mellow and well rounded with just a touch of char coming through. This is coming from a boubon (Knob Creek 120p) /peated scotch (Laphroaig) lover. Try this one out. I think the review from distiller is pretty right on too. Excuse me while I go back to my glass....45.0 USD per Bottle

Not what I was hoping. I don't have a lot of wheater experience but I found It kinda bland with a bitter aftertaste. The initial taste reminded me of a flat cream soda. Then some bourbon flavors came in...then the bitter. Not a fan...but I'm drinking it. Sweet at 1st. Feels medium thick. Just way to bitter at the finish for my tastes. EWB has WAY more flavor for appx 1/2 the price..... Though not as sweet. I didn't really find Larceny hot at all....just typical 92p burn....that I'd call medium/med-low. Never tasted one quite like it. Normally I keep notes on those unique tastes incase I'd like to taste it again someday. Most of the time those with unique tastes I can see myself craving at some future date ie..( Eagle rare, Campfire, 4 roses) This though unique, I don't foresee ever buying again. If I want a wheater I'll buy a Weller product...all of which I enjoy more than this. my2¢...the "full" on the graph should be reduced by 50%

Bird Dog 10 Year Very Small Batch Bourbon (German Shorthaired Pointer)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 21, 2018$40 here in MI. Not worth the price IMO.( see 2nd review) Not a lot of flavor. Some bitternes. Fairly fruity. I prefer a darker, dark oakier bourbon. It has sweetness, some burn which is about 50/50 alcohol to tanins. The oak is a fresh oak...not a charred older oak. I like the 12yr Elijah Craig, 12 ECBP, and Knob creek 9yr...darker less "bright" bourbons. Maybe this will be your thing...but it isn't mine. Later review....After the bottle has had a week opened and then letting the pour sit in the glass for 10-15mins. Some of the brighter fruit flavors give way to to the darker carmel flavors. I find this a good thing. Still a little tingling on the tongue but the finish has a much sweeter/caramel taste and actually more than average smoky/char to it. The bitterness remains from start to finish. This would BE WORTH $40 if this is the profile you like...much improved over time...but still not one of my top likes ....3.5 stars -
