This tequila brand is named for the year that is considered to be that of the first tequila production in Mexico, and packaged in a bottle shape that is meant to be reminiscent of ancient Mayan pyramids. This añejo is made from 100% blue weber agave aged 8 - 12 years before harvest and matured in French oak for a minimum of 14 months.

    Distilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged for at least a year in barrels not to exceed 600 liters. Any type of wood is acceptable, but ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Añejo tequilas are also known as "aged" or "extra aged".

Tasting Notes

"Roasted and stewed agave flavors mix in with chocolate malt, vanilla, caramel and cinnamon, reminiscent of a Mexican hot chocolate. Hot chili spices and spearmint play into the finish, which is long and sweet."
