5 years open by now. Deep copper in color. Slight absinthe in the nose with grahams cracker.
Not too sweet, nutty flavor, followed by some rye dill and herbal tones. Well balanced for a four grain. Medium to long finish that Carries sweet caramel and floral notes. Dryness as well
Sept 2022, nose has not changed, sweetness has cola and sweet dill, some licorice and star anise. Finish has more of a licorice finish
Rye seems predominant. Earth, dark chocolate, black pepper, nutmeg, heather, malt, wheat then corn. Slight smoke, peat. Very dry finish, although lasting warmth. This is an interesting whiskey. Perhaps because it is 4 grain? To me this one will need a few chances. Try- neat, with a few drops of water or on ice.
