Reviewed May 28, 2023Very sweet nose with notes of marzipan, raisin, cherries, and a good touch of vanilla but not too intense on the latter. Good but not a ton of complexity, bourbon outweighing sherry just slightly. Sweet. At first, a slight almost metallic acidity similar to Arran, which leads into a sherried tobacco-leather note, followed by peachy and cherry bourbon notes with powdered sugar sweetness, a slight marmalade note. Need water to open it up - like sweet gasoline without water. Nice sweet finish but not terribly complex. Good, nice intensity and expression but lacking the sherry complexity I would like. Overall not completely worth price but alright scotch. I do like the flavour though, absolutely not bad. -

Reviewed May 6, 2023 (edited May 10, 2023)I’m used to cask strength scotches but i found this expression a bit harsh. Plus it doesnt have the complexity of A'Bunadh. Still a good dram. But my expectations were high. Note: Bottle I got was batch 006 and 124 proof74.99 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale -

Reviewed January 5, 2023 (edited February 9, 2023)Batch 3, 60.4 ABV Not much on the nose, more ethanol than there are light apple, pear and vanilla notes. Viscous, creamy and spicy on the palate with the same light fruits and vanilla. Finish is long! Spicy and warming, probably the best part of this whiskey. An ice cube mutes the ethanol, intensifies the fruit notes, and accentuates the viscosity, especially as the ice melts. Nice!59.99 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale -

Reviewed October 25, 2022 (edited November 11, 2022)(Batch No. 004) Color: Pale gold Nose: Green apples, dewy grass, and vanilla extract. Honeysuckle blooms add a little sweetness. Palate: Hot and peppery, but with a round, fruity body and richness. A little caramel and a touch of toffee as well. Finish: More Granny Smith apples with mellow oak tannins. Hot and short, though. Diluted: Gorgeous nose with orchard blooms and cider spices. Palate gains a lot of honey and rich vanilla, along with butterscotch and buttered popcorn. Finish isn't improved much, though.
