Bold oak spice and sherry on the nose. Dried raisins and butterscotch on the palate. Slightly bitter, but otherwise a pleasant long spicy finish. This whisky is a bit sherry-intense for me, but overall, it is quite smooth considering its 60% ABV bottling. Worth a try.
I love this for the challenge and the flavor. Each batch does have a different profile, but I have never been disappointed. Always have with a few drops of water as the abv is quite high. Wonderfully complex.
Such a delicious, complex single malt, what one can expect from almost every release of A'bubadh thanks to the cask strength. Typical sherry sweetness and then an odd almost rubber band smell. Oak spice and toffee round off the nose. Sherry on the palate as well with an instant heat/spice. Red berries. A dry and subtle bitter finish with a thick mouth coating richness. Certainly benefits not only from a few drops of water but also time to open up.
