The nose is a little underwhelming.. with that being said this is easily my favorite purchase so far. On the palate.. fresh berries and smoke, as if you were to spread some berry jam over a campfire.. the smoke lingers elegantly. A truly remarkable whisky that I'll treasure for as long as the bottle lasts.
Neat.
Nose: bacon. Sweet berries. Red wine. Smoke.
Rubber. Sweet smoke. Smokey BBQ meatyness. Smokey, sweet fading into nutty finish.
I’m too novice to pick up the more nuanced fruits yet I think.
Nose: fruit and soot, ashy and vegetal
Body: sooty, warm, chocolate, cherry ice cream, juicy, blueberry and elderberry
Palate: ashy, smoky, sweet, cherries and very warm
Finish: ashy/sooty and mouth coating
Amazing. Classic Ardbeg Peat and leather, some sweet notes on the nose. Maybe some orange. Taste is Meaty, BBQ, Peat, medicinal smoke and some raspberry. Finish is long and ash. Excellent. It will be missed after this bottle is finished.
