Nose: peat, smoke, caramel and rubber Taste: Ardbeg peat (rubber) and smoke with a balance of coffee, earth and raisin Finish: long peat and char Amazing dram. It does not get much better than this. Even at this lower ABV, amazing balance of flavors. I need to try the higher ABV version so it’s not a perfect score, but it is my highest rated and with good reason.

Red Spot 15 Year Single Pot Still

Reviewed July 3, 2021 (edited February 12, 2022)Nose: vanilla, rose, honey, licorice almost bourbon like Taste: subtle, orange, vanilla cream, some hay with cinnamon spice Finish: medium length, slight peppery spice Small ABV bite but drinks easy. Very nice Irish, with some complexity, worth it at a reasonable price. -
Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2011

Reviewed June 21, 2021 (edited September 16, 2021)Nose: pear, peat, banana Taste: banana, peat, brine, apple, vanilla Finish: walnut banana bread with salt/brine. Long herbal finish. Good whisky. Really like the PC but prefer the 10 year. -

Blue Spot 7 Year Cask Strength Single Pot Still

Reviewed May 17, 2021 (edited January 26, 2022)Nose: Sherry, cherry, orange, cloves Taste: pepper spice, floral notes Finish: oily long finish of chocolates and spice Several layers in this whisky. It’s spicey/burn through out but underneath it moves from floral to chocolate and spice. Very good. I was pleasantly surprised how much I like this. -
Ardbeg Kelpie (2017 Committee Release)

Reviewed March 25, 2021 (edited October 7, 2021)Nose: iodine, vanilla, peat Taste: smoked meat, pepper, honey sweetness, salted caramel Finish: medium finish, flavors fade to sweetness Definitely Ardbeg but the sweetness of honey and salted caramel give it some uniqueness. Great dram. -
