Ardnamurchan AD/12:16 First Fill ex PX Sherry Hogshead # 1322 Binny's

A friend of mine owns this bottle. Allowed me to try a pour. Such a deep rich, dark caramely color. Nose - A powerdul nose. A super sherry forward nose. I get overriped bananas, raisins, nutmeg, cinnamon. I get lavender and moss as well. Hints of chocolate and fruit cake! What a rich nose! Tongue - what a great first sip! Its super strong, has an interesting warmth. Very grape forward, like overripe grapes! Strong molasses and sugarcane aromas show up. Wonderfully rich, raisiny and oily. Coats the mouth really well. Finish is long, it lingers! Very spicy towards the end! Enjoyable spice! All in all a wonderful pour!!

A beautiful sherry forward powerhouse! The PX gives great fruity sweetness, but the suprise was finding mangos and pinapples on the palate along with the expected sherry nutty, plum, and dark sherry notes. The ardnamurchan distillate still shines and leaves a delicious and spicy finish that makes the sides if your mouth water. Was great in a side by side with the standard AD/ release! No peat, no problem with this cask strength gem!

Nose: The aroma features dried banana chips and milk chocolate, ripe plum, and floral citrus blossoms. There are also notes of toffee butter, peppery oak spice, and a hint of saltiness. Palate: The taste is rich with salted butter on baked plums, caramel chocolates, and toffee bar. Spices like cinnamon sticks and cloves add warmth and depth. Finish: The finish is long and warm, with lingering cardamom and cloves, fading into sweet, chocolate-soaked plums.
