Balcones Lineage Texas Single Malt

Full-bodied, rich single malt. It has that similar Balcones profile found in a lot of their stuff. It’s thick and meaty but with fruit flavors. Like a bbq grilled pineapple. Awesome malt to share if your friends are more into scotch than bourbon.

Distinctive and tasty. I get a kind of spicy chocolate flavor, but without either too much sweetness or bitterness. Has some of the flavors that I really like in other Balcones whiskeys, though nothing quite like the Brimstone.

Smells funky, tastes funky and spicy with tannic oak. Not a pleasant pour to me but their cask strength rye is awesome.

On the nose I pick up a few things like mixed berries and cream oatmeal a touch of ethanol not much at all. The palate is very sweet like a fruit punch without a ton of sugar, (wasn't expecting to be as sweet) followed by black tea with a bit of raspberry notes to the finish which to me was a little bit shorter than I was expecting. Overall it is a great pour, but be careful I believe this whisky can get away from you and before you know it you got an empty bottle.
