Rich and malty with a heavy dose of woody barrel and rum spice. Not much peat, if any, and an easy burn that finishes smooth. A drop or two of water brings out some caramel and some earthy tones. Damn fine.
Heavy fruit on the nose, palate. (A bit to much fruit, cherries, for me) Would say for me it’s a average bourbon at the moment. Will let it breath for a bit and come back and revisit to see if it changes the profile a bit.
Had some neat as an after dinner drink. Was very disappointed with it. I might have set my expectations too high. it seemed like it was trying so hard to be Scotch and a bourbon but missed the mark on excelling in either one.
It was interesting but would not order it again.
