Balcones Texas Single Malt

Delicious

Real complexity to it that hits you hard. Caught some honey on the nose. Get big bold flavor of cinnamon and bite along with an undertone of sweetness with it. Overall an interesting change of pace from some of the others. Would call it a nice to have but not a must have.

Nose - sweeeet dark fruit like grapes, substantial oak as well as maltiness Palette - loads of that dark fruit and some spicy oak Finish - really opens up with a lot of sweetness, like buttercream Really good offering from Balcones, not surprised either 😅 I'll be finding a bottle of this for sure

Cinnamon and oak

I've had this and Lineage so far, and I must say I'm a fan of Balcones. This delivers big flavor. Cinnamon, and... cake? Maybe some apple. It has an undeniable desserty quality, but is not cloying or saccharine. Rich is the appropriate term. Best of the bunch I've sampled tonight.
