Reviewed August 27, 2020 (edited September 20, 2024)Wow what a nose! Dripping with orchard fruit, worn leather, flint smoke and poached pear and apples. On the palate peach and spied pear sing with heavy influences of baking spice and the same worn leather in the nose. The finish lingers for ages and reinforces all of the wonderful notes from earlier. A terrific whisky that I cant possibly have enough of! -

Reviewed August 26, 2020 (edited January 19, 2021)Nose- vanilla, cherry, cloves, and a bit of astringency Body- Sweet up front with notes of cherry, blackberry, fruit punch, vanilla, and clove. There are some similarities with The Prisoner but this Bardstown rendition is brighter, less jam and less tanic. Finish- Medium finish with hints of dark chocolate and almond. There are notes there that remind me of an unpeated scotch. This is very nice. While the Prisoner is still my favorite Bardstown production, this has more depth and interest. -

Reviewed July 20, 2020 (edited April 11, 2022)This is one complex, deep and awesome pour. Think of sweet dark purple grapes cooked in caramel sauce. The palate is thick and coating and the finish is long. I could sip on this all day. The price is pretty decent too. One of the best of 2020.
