What can I say? Gin, by itself, tastes like pine needles. I wouldn’t even rate it as a whole star by itself. However, this spirit is a necessity for many mixed drinks and as such is a staple in my liquor cabinet. Add tonic water and some lime and it makes a very refreshing afternoon drink.
Floral, spice and lemon carry it. A good amount of juniper. More harsh than Sapphire but I like it. Better G&T than Sapphire but I think Sapphire would make a better martini. Slightly lower proof than Sapphire
Had not intended to taste this one today but having only ever seen Sapphire behind the bar I was intrigued when I saw it. As a relatively new gin drinker I don’t know that I’m tasting the difference. Might need to do a side by side. Floral in the nose and the tongue. More pronounced in the aroma tho.
