Nose: Peanuts, toffee, caramel, baking spices
Palate: Peanuts, toffee, caramel, dark fruit, baking baking spices are somewhat present on the open but more towards the finish.
Finish: Strong finish but not overwhelming, definitely get that Kentucky hug and the spices linger for about 30 seconds.
1st bookers batch for me and it looks like I picked a good one. I’ve had bakers before so familiar with the distillery profile. This drinks rather easily for its hefty proof. It’s oily and immediately hits you with cinnamon, baking spices and vanilla. There’s an edge of peanuts but it’s more like it was made adjacent to nut dust and not soaking in them like some of the other nutty bourbons I’ve had. There’s a lingering burn and that’s usually when they show up.
Tobacco, prunes, and leather on the nose. Oily on the lips. Lightly peanuty on the palate, less so than most Bookers. Strong cinnamon cookie and plenty of burn. Spicier and sweeter than most Bookers. Improves with ice. Bookers is usually easy to get your hands on. Are they cutting back? This took four stops to find.
