Brugal 1888 Rum

Very smooth. No burn at all. Strong flavor, very similar to whiskey. Alternating bitter and sweet.

Of the rums I have tried recently, this one had a taste that I couldn't quite identify the first few times I tried it. This last time I decided that leather best described what I was tasting, a first for me. Later on in the glass I could taste the oakiness that I had expected. Overall a nice sipping experience.
