Nose: sherry comes through immediately, but not in a sickly way. Definitely sweet, but also getting a hint of salinity and earth here as well. A light candied fig?
Palate: a sweet and bright start, sherry leads the way with a berries and cream note that leads into an earthy tone. Transitions to a darker oakier note with some caramel as it fills the palate, this is where the salinity comes in. Proof begins to come in a bit here.
Mild orange peel. Maybe some baking spice.
Finish: tannic oak, a slight rubber from somewhere? Proof sits in the back of the mouth/top of the throat for a minute.
