I’m a huge fan of Chattanooga and rarely see these in Texas. I was able to find this when traveling in Florida and had to try it.
The nose is really, really good. I could smell this constantly. Hints of pine, spice, sweetness and some pepper. It’s spicy and tasty which gets you excited to taste it.
The palate continues the spice and peppery flavors. There is a sweet caramel cut through it but the rye baking spices really stands out.
The finish lasts soooooo long. The spice flavor from the nose keeps its presence. The peppery flavor comes full circle and the finish is the best part.
So far, I’m loving this rye. It’s really good. Also, tried this as an old fashioned and it was delicious. Had some friends over and they all wanted seconds of this as an old fashioned. Overall, I definitely recommend this if you are a fan of ryes.
Dark straw in color with a hint of Amber. Slow forming, but plenty of legs.
Nose is bright, tart and fruity .. candied apple and herbal notes with fresh stored straw.
Soft and grassy, it is incredibly well balanced... The dry oak and rye spice are matched by the light caramel/creme brulee and the finish is long and interesting... It's a great dance between the mash bill and the barrel.
At this point I'm comfortable saying that if the bottle has a Chattanooga Whiskey label on it, it's going to be good.
Their rye whiskey is no exception with a sweet, spicy nose and velvety mouth feel. The flavor is peppery, with a hint of chocolate, cherry, vanilla and oak.
Another outstanding offering from Chattanooga Whiskey.
Gentle is right. Soft, sweet nose of rye, cinnamon, oak and barrel spice. On the palate soft as well, pretty much the same. An easy drinker, but for the rye lover it lacks punch.
A mellow beginning that doesn’t scorch the tongue, but then bringing that typical rye fire to the back of the palette, with some smokiness delivered by fruity undertones.
