Clément Select Barrel Rhum Agricole
Rhum Agricole Vieux
Rhum Clément // Martinique
Like any forward-thinking entrepreneur, Homère Clément saw an opportunity in the midst of chaos, founding Habitation Clément at a time when Martinique had all but lost its sugar industry. Centuries later, the world can sip the fruits of this labor, such as this Select Barrel rhum agricole. It's named thus because it is aged in French oak barrels individually chosen by the cellar master for various characteristics which mingle to form the final product. The rhum is matured in these casks for three years.
Rhum Agricole VieuxRhum distilled from fresh sugarcane juice that has been aged in oak in barrels not to exceed 650 liters. In Martinique, aging requirements are at least 3 years for a VO designation, 4 years for VSOP, 6 for XO, and at least 6 for vintage rhums. Hors d'age is aged between 8-12 years.

"This rhum has a lighter weight than some of the others in the collection, however it delivers bright and intriguing flavors. Tart apricot, peach and banana meld with vanilla and toffee. Herbal notes of spearmint, pine cone and rosemary add subtle accents. The finish goes a bit hot, though the flavors that linger are fresh and nuanced. "
