Clynelish 12 Year The Wildcats Golden Gaze is one of eight bottlings for Diageo’s 2022 Special Release collection. Each whisky in the collection was selected by Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson and each was bottled at cask strength. The theme for the 2022 collection is called "Elusive Expressions" and Diageo selected digital illustrators/artists Ken Taylor and Kevin Fong to design the packaging.
Refill American oak casks were used for maturation and oloroso and PX sherry casks were used in the finishing process. Released October 2022. (SRP $199.99).

Tasting Notes
"The nose is fruity and toasty, with a hint of orange blossom. The palate is like peach jam that's been cooked with thyme and sweet spices that's coated in caramel toffee. It melts over the tongue, but goes suddenly hot as it hits the back palate. The finish feels a bit abrupt considering the midpalate richness of flavor. A drop of water helps the flavors breathe and stretch out somewhat, drawing out hints of sandalwood. "
