Compass Box Hedonism

The nose at first reminded me of Japanese whiskies, bit then it hit me. What it really reminds me of is high aged corn whiskies from Canada. Kind of a burnt grain aroma. The palate is soft and gentle with a creamy texture. Pretty balanced and delicate. The finish does slowly bring in a spicy bite to it with oaky vanilla flavors slowly fading for a relatively long finish.

Really underwhelming, given the distiller rating. It's very one note, with vanilla and sweetness on the nose and then not much else. It tastes more like a bourbon to me than a scotch. Can't believe I reviewed this so highly 3 years ago... must be becoming a snob(!)

Vanilla cream nose. Viscous feel. Palate brings in some lighter fruits. Dry, mild baking spice finish.
