Nose- plums, pear, honey Flavors- spice cake, mint, pear

This is a hard whisky to score. I'm giving it a 3.5 because I don't think that I would ever buy it, but I would never turn a dram down. Nose: Dried fruits, raisins, honey, brown sugar Palate: Dark fruits, grappa, raisins, honey granola, baking spices Finish: Medium short and leaves an enjoyable sweetness Mouthfeel: Like velvet but not overly oily.

First opened No water Nose - fruit, such as apples, and spice Taste - strong vanilla at first, followed by a slight fruitiness Overall - surprising flavor profile with gentle, rounded edges, very pleasant to drink

Nose: juicy peaches, a typical highland honey, light and fruity fresh, smooth and somehow creamy, crispy butter cookies, somewhere in the back is a slight port aroma as well, then a bid buttered warm toast, lemon and raspberry. Later a distinct fresh ground black pepper note. Palate: candy sweet like corn syrup, then slowly some nice aromatic spices push through, also apples, then dark honey and pine resin. In the end a concluding oak wood note. Finish: mild and delicately sweet with a handful of those spices. The palate intensifies over the course of the dram and adds nuances here and there. Surprisingly nice. I didn’t expect too much honestly. I am fairly new to blended whiskies but this one actually is really enjoyable with quite a few interesting facets. It is in the end a bid one-directional and slightly too “highlandy” and sweet for my personal taste but unique for sure. Worth checking out on any case.

Nose - apple, raisin, honey, orange zest, pineapple, juicy cherry, plum, butterscotch, vanilla, floral notes, subtle peat (mostly the funk, maybe a whiff of smoke), light brine, chocolate, sweet wood, moderate ethanol burn. Taste - sour apple, honey, orange and lemon zest, funky peat, caramel, apple juice, cherry, spicy ginger, chili pepper, chocolate, bitter oak, moderate alcohol bite, finishing fairly long with sour fruit and chocolate flavors. I had higher hopes for this, as the nose is pleasantly complex. However, the taste is young, sour, and disappointing. While certainly not terrible, it’s a bit of a letdown.

For scotch, this is good.
