Duggan's Dew O'Kirkintilloch

Bleh.

Great inexpensive scotch for mixing, not bad by itself either. Nose presents more ethanol than one might expect, however past that is ripe banana and sweet cereal grains. The palette is sweet and a touch fruity, and a little spicier than expected. The finish is short but continues with sweet malt, and a touch of ethanol. Overall, quite pleasant for 12.95 a fifth. I have made a few cocktails with this, which have turned out very well. A whiskey sour made with this is both unique and pleasant, with the sweet maltey notes punching through the lemon juice. Even better however, is an old fashioned made with this. Somehow, it manages to amplify the ripe banana note I get on the nose, and it really plays nicely with angostura bitters. Overall, I'm a fan.

Not to shabby

Not bad at 14 a bottle, sweet at first but a real alcohol burn that lingers overall it’s worth a try. There is worse.
