Edition: 13, Harvest 2016, 47%ABV Ignacio Parada Smells of ashtray and paint thinner with some subtle roasted vegetables trying to poke through but keeps being overtaken by alcohol fumes. Taste is a little better with earthy vegetable notes, subtle tropical fruits, and clay-like minerality but then the finish kills it again. It's reminiscent of menthol cigarettes along with a harsh bitterness. This is by far the worst EJ bottle that I have had yet. For the money I laid down for it, I hope it gets better with time but that means I have to drink it to get to that point.

Earthy, an aroma I can’t quite specify. Sweet and salty. 93

Lightly herbal with hints of clay. Very light smoke. I have not had a lot of the better mezcals, but this one is the best I have had so far. Light and delicate.

Herbal from top to bottom. Slightly smokey and out there. This Mezcal seems a bit unapproachable due to the use of Karwinskis Agave that gives it this distinct taste and contrasts. A lot of love from me towards this Mezcal and the Cortes family.
