Reviewed July 22, 2017 (edited February 1, 2020)The nose is complex, giving you a feeling that you might be diving into a delicious new whiskey- AND THEN: like a generic Louisiana hot sauce; the spice comes on quickly and lacks complexity- the smell is sweet but the taste is bitter, exceptionally thin, and smokey like a rain soaked ash tray. Add the taste of funeral flowers and rubbing alcohol to the mix and BINGO! You've got a bottle of this stuff. Thumbs down- Heaven hill continues to disappoint with this batch, -

Reviewed July 21, 2017 (edited December 4, 2017)Somewhat muted nose. Cloves. Classic Heaven Hill profile on the nose. Some nutty notes. A bit astringent on the tongue. Tastes young, a bit hot for the proof. Was hoping this would be as good as the 12-yr, even if different, but I think I can't say that. Will have to try it again. 7/21/17
