Blind taste test - bought 50 mL bottles at Total Wine in Grand Rapids with Kyle. Color is a pretty medium amber. Smell is sharp, dark fruits/berries and toast - similar to Blade and Bow but sharper ethanol aroma. Taste is certainly unique - herbal, floral, spiced, and a little toffee. Not my favorite, but would happily sip again. Upon reveal, the dark fruits and caramel dominate. Nice and would not get too tired of drinking
Nose: Butterscotch, vanilla, pine, baking spices, cereal grain, chocolate, and apple peel. Palate: Chocolate, vanilla, caramel, baking spices, spearmint, brown sugar, and cinnamon. The finish which lingers for quite a bit is reminiscent of a York peppermint patty. Delicious!
Man, I dig this stuff. I always buy it whenever I see a bottle. At 104 proof, this baby is dangerously easy on the way down. The nose is sweet and tingly, with notes of baking spices. The palate almost reminds me of a caramel macchiato. The finish is medium-long but far from hot, offering smooth oak notes with pleasant ethanol accents.
