George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2018)

distilled the spring I graduated college. chestnuts and rich mahogany. maybe even a slight edge over 2017

What a great nose, rich caramel. Bread, spice, oak, brown sugar, cinnamon and other baking spices. Incredible. On the palate, surprisingly smooth for Stagg. Nice heat, lingers. An unexpected perfumy note. Sweet. Leather. Pecan nibs. Maybe a citrus note at the end? Not as intense as the 2017 batch. 11/30/18

I got a pour of this after doing a Pappy flight and it was still able to stand out in a good way. Amazing and must have to add to a collection.

This bourbon is great, don't get me wrong, but I'd never pay more than $90-100. Stagg Jr tastes very similar, just a bit more bite for half the price.

Amazing notes of leather, wood, and sweet vanilla. Not too hot but is a good one drink and done bourbon. One of the best I’ve ever had
