I get tropical fruit and malt sweetness but not much more. Quite a bit of burn at the end, likely both alcohol and wood spice. Good, but just short of great — expected more complexity.
Nose: Fruit (apricot), salt/brine, marzipan/almonds
Palate: Sweet vanilla, forest fruit, citrus, salt/brine, spices (black pepper)
Finish: Long sweet finish, tobacco, leather, a little citrus, muddy/earthy/damp although dries on the aftertaste
There’s the Campbeltown funk, moist and salty, but with a load of sweet forest fruit throughout.
Nose: Apple, raspberry, custard, and I’m getting a hint of cheddar cheese? (Maybe my nose is broken).
Palate: Jalapeño, cinnamon, apple, sugar.
Finish: Sweet and spicy. Reminds me of some ryes I’ve had.
This is one of my favorites! I have NEVER gotten a jalapeño note but this time I could taste it on every sip. I kinda like it! It makes me enjoy this more.
