Glendalough Double Barrel Single Grain

Very little nose but boy does this kick the caramel and the fruit with just the right amount of heat. We were tasting this at the beach yesterday after sailing so perhaps the setting helped but it was throughly embraced by both scotch and bourbon fans as a most enjoyable dram. The bottle was half gone ….

I thought I smelled rubbing alcohol and silicone lightly in the nose. First taste confirmed the silicone, it’s reminiscent of a soft fishing lure. Some iodine, rubber, bandaid. It’s not really bad but it’s not super enjoyable either. I plan to use in an old fashioned from here out.
