Grand Mayan - Tequila Extra Añejo

A rich, Agave Spirit by NOM 1137 crafted in copper pot stills, then aged for 5 years in oak. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, wood & nuts; while a full life adds notes of copper, caramel & coconut; that led to a balanced death with a touch of oak. April 2016 / April 2017 / March 2018

First tasting. The learning begins.

Definitely getting some nice wood influence here. Cognac barrels imparting some nice fruity and sweet elements. Almost getting orange notes. Tiny smoke element that's likely coming from the wood. Finishes with a nice salinity and substantial vegetal flavor. Overall smooth as hell.
