Grangestone Highland Single Malt Rum Cask Finish

A rich, Single Malt from Highlands, Scotland aged 7 to 9 years in oak barrels, then finished in former Rum casks for 6 months, It has a birth with notes of butterscotch & toffee; while life is green & leafy adding notes of vanilla & caramelized bananas; that led to a delicate death with notes of oak, toffee & banana. June 2016 / May 2017 / March / November 2018 / February 2019 / August 2022

The nose is sweet and tropical with sunscreen and coconut. Lemon and grapefruit peels, vanilla, and of course, rum round out the rest of the bouquet. The palate is bright with lemon, vanilla, and Smarties candy. The finish is short, sweet, and dry.

Smoky with rum notes and hot finish

Not much rum. I prefer The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve.

Not sweet side very enjoyable.
