Perfect Japanese whisky

Smokey, peaty, sweet, cherry jam, full. Great ;)

The color is a glowing amber with legs that range their time to slowly move down the sides of the glass with every movement. The nose is very fruit forward with a mixture of vanilla custard, oak, a touch of pepper, with nuances coming out with every smell. The palate is somewhat rich but very smooth, hitting every corner of the mouth. The fruit and the oak translate beautifully, along with a nice helping of grain, straw, honey and pepper. Everything is about as perfectly balanced as it can be. You get absolutely no sensation of alcohol, just pure flavor that keeps drawing you in. The finish is long that keeps the mouth feeling pleasantly peppery with a lingering fruitiness that you keep wanting to chew on. In the corners is a maltiness that reminds you this is an amazing whisky.

Hi, its Kevin from #DailyDramMontreal Nose: toffee, spicy peppers, cinnamon, berries, pineapple... very rich Mouth: Round, lighter than expected, cinnamon bust,very close to the nose indication, light chocolate, cookie & pastries. Final: Tasty and sweet, easy and well balanced. Its missing some abv, 46-48% wouldve been way better. Fruits are a bit too absent on the final.

Beautiful Japanese whisky! Nice balance of red fruit, floral, and spice notes. Subtle wooded smokiness.

As a 21 yo blend- really good, complex, nice spiciness,medium finish. Price: NOT WORTH THE PRICE- 700€! Royal Salute 21 yo is as good as this and costs 5 times less, but for 700€ i can find great single cask indie bottle even 40yo. Dont waste big money on blends! 10 stars to marketeers. Sample from Netherlands.

Just amazing... can’t imagine whiskey getting any better.

As I wind down my whisky drinking I was lucky to receive a few drams to extend my whisky odyssey slightly longer. All the way from New York 10's of thousands of miles it was a package which had a brilliant bunch of goodies which collectively comprised an excellent semi retirement gift. First off there was this beauty. I'm not great for putting labels to what I'm tasting..i often look for inspiration in others reviews to help me articulate what I'm tasting... so I did so with this dram. Initially I thought you can tell it's quality but does it really live up to the hype? As I read through all the reviews I realised the magic was in the complexity...it has a hell of a lot of it albeit subtly. Rose water, smoke, roasted coffee beans, caramel, papaya, icing sugar, green tea, butterscotch, toasted coconut, brown sugar, green bananas, cinnamon, orange peel, apricots, plum, clove, leather, chestnut, black pepper and sandalwood. Each time I read a descriptor I was like tick, yes, aha. And there is the magic. I had a partial sample so no doubt if i worked through a bottle it'd go higher but I'll peg at at a 4.5 Thanks @PBMichiganWolverine!
