J.P. Wiser's // Canada
J.P. Wiser’s Rye is only available in the US market. The whisky is aged between 5-9 years and is comprised of a blend of a double-distilled corn mash and a single-column still rye mash. It is aged in three types of barrels: used bourbon casks, used Canadian casks, and virgin-charred oak.
CanadianDISTILLED IN CANADA AND AGED IN BARRELS FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS; OFTEN (BUT NOT ALWAYS) CANADIAN WHISKIES ARE BLENDS OF CORN, BARLEY, AND RYE WHISKIES WHICH WERE DISTILLED AND MATURED SEPARATELY. TRADITIONALLY, CANADIAN WHISKEY IS CALLED “RYE”, ALTHOUGH NO MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF RYE-GRAIN WHISKY IS REQUIRED IN A BLEND.

"What is detectable is a bit of caramelized sugar and maybe some faint cigar box spice. And no unpleasant aromas. Blindfolded, I’m fairly certain I would not read this as rye. The weight on the palate is very light, and there’s a strange bitterness on the finish, which fortunately doesn’t linger too long. A couple of ice cubes and a can of cold beer on the side would make this whisky much more appetizing. "
