Nose: maple, burnt brown sugar, oak, toffee pudding, bear claw pastry, if i try really hard I do get banana but I get the other notes more
Palate: oak first, peppery and slight burn, toffee, rich
Duhon: Again I had this the same night that yaya made that banana bread. This was a whiskey that everyone was hyping up and I looked for pretty extensively. I’ve tried this a few times and this is the 4th time. The nose is better than the taste in my opinion. It has gotten better, probably because its been aerating, but its still a let down to me compared to the hype. Still a good whiskey and pretty consistent but I prefer Jack Daniel’s single barrel barrel proof rye. Its more complex to me and I get that famous banana flavor more from that. Also Ive noticed that past a certain age in bourbon they start to blend more. Obviously they are still unique at that age but I noticed that some of my favorite whiskey’s fonr have insane age statemnts.
