Nose: Vanilla, fragrant, sweet
Palate: Vanilla, hint of caramel, overall sweet, with some rough edges
Finish: Short, baking spices with lingering sweetness and a little tannic bitterness
This is what a flagship Jim Beam should be. The benefits of extra age and a few extra proof points really makes a difference. Now the end result isn't going to blow anyone's socks off. This is still a simple, thin, basic bourbon that hits the required sweet notes. It's on the cusp of being a solid sipper, but at this price point this could easily be the well staple of any bar.
