This may be my fav beam release to be honest. These little pints are sleepers at my store, but have so much flavor. This eleven year showcases the barley with a robust wave of brown sugar, salted caramel and vanilla sweetness. mild leather, cereal, and dark malty and molasses follow along with robust oak and wood spice. the finish is medium to long with warming spice and brown sugar. the only gripe i have about the bourbon is that although the flavor is there it is very watery and i feel like a higher proofing even by a few percents could have helped. Otherwise great whiskey from beam
Nose- Oak, toffee, faint vanilla.
Palate: Sweet, nutty, oaky, transition to spicy, with a hint of rye.
Mouthfeel: Light, but not too thin. Just a bit of creaminess Medium bodied.
Finish: Dry, oaky spicy. No burn going down.
Solid juice. First pour had a hint of ethanol on the nose, along with some vanilla. Opened up on the palate with some caramel and apple notes with a bit of spice that carries through the finish. Second pour the next day was more mellow, with the baking spice and vanilla notes being much more pronounced and not as much spice at the finish.
Sweet nose with vanilla and sweet baking spices, like a finished bread. Smooth mouthfeel, hardly any burn. Vanilla front and center with cinnamon on the tongue. Medium finish lingers with a little smoke and more vanilla. Simple overall but a pleasant sipper that doesn’t need water or ice.
