There are at least two versions of this that I have tasted. One before 2012-2013 and one the new re-release last year. Side by side tasting reveals more spicyness in the new one. The talisker punch is still there but more pronounced in the new release. Definitely like the new release and the price. This is the dram that takes you on a journey for less than the price of a train ticket. It's $42 at Costco, so grab at least two to savour. Very well balanced blend that compliments any spicy snack you are having.
Brine and peat on the nose, but in a balanced way, not over powering. A smokey blend up front, but then you are hit with an unexpected but welcomed fruitiness that leads to a long lingering finish. This is one of the great whiskeys and possibily the best I've ever had.
Always loved JW Green, but could not find it I Australia anymore after it was discontinued. A limited number of bottles were released in 2015 but all were quickly snapped up. Was just traveling in Taiwan and visited Costco. They had Green Label in the gift pack with (2 tumblers) by the pallet! Snapped up 4 bottles to bring back with me. Not sure how as the gift packs are heavy with all that glass.
