Knob Creek 18 Year Bourbon 30th Anniversary (2022 Release)

Just pouring this in the glass I notice she's thick, with big slow moving fingers in the glass. First whiff is bold. I get oak, sweet cherries, cinnamon, and light char on the nose. On the palate it's remarkably smooth. There's a soft mouth coating cherry vanilla coupled with big wood notes that define it. While you're admiring how smooth it is the cinnamon and spice starts to build for a very nice finish. Overall this is the best Knob Creek I've had thus far.

Cracked this open and compared against the Elijah Craig 18yr. I’m going with the KC18. Has big oak you would expect from an 18 year bourbon but not as overpowering as the EC. Really impressive bottle.

Very unique. Nose was very wood forward with some floral notes and maybe pine. Taste comes in slightly sweet with a floral taste and remains quite wood forward but I get a little caramel in the middle as well. It’s complex with a decent amount of spice to it but not hot. Medium mouthfeel with a long finish.

Another that the review is already out there but wanted to more in depth notes. Nose - I keep saying this about this one, but the fruity and oaky forward knob creek profile is unmistakable. It's amazing how well they've done at not just making this "Beam" but making it unmistakably a part of the Knob Creek lineup. Lemon/citrus jam meets rich oak, slightly dried oak, dried barn leaf tobacco, heavy caramel sweetness with minimal if any vanilla. Taste - More of the same. Rich oak, heavy spices, cinnamon, huge tobacco leaf, rich caramel, some french vanilla, lightly nutty, and more and more traditional heavy vanilla on the back end. I'll give this the same score of the 15, a 3.5. I'm feeling this is an over statement. 180 bucks is a bit too much, but it's fun, it's a bit different, and it's cool to see such an old age statement.

Sweet cherry and oaky nose. Very little alcohol smell. The first sip was almost too smooth, as it went down without leaving much impression. After swirling it in the glass and swishing in my mouth, got some nice woody spices, a touch of molasses, and almost a...candied flower taste.

OK this is probably my new best I've had you need to try it at least might not be your cup of tea but at least you should try very very good

On the nares I get vanilla, nuts, caramel, oak, dark fruit, cocoa. On the palate it’s smooth and nutty with notes of oak, dark cherries, nutmeg. Delicious.
