Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B523

NEAT NOSE - Sweet Hawaiian Roles with Honey brushed over the top initially after I poured it into the glass. After some aerating, more honey and cinnamon came through with some lightly roasted nuts. PALATE - Sweet. Cinnamon and Honey FINISH - Medium BUY AGAIN?? - This is a great bourbon, but the more wheated whiskies I have, I notice I’m not the biggest fan. I like high rye bourbons and ryes so much more. But again, this is good and I am far from giving up on wheated bourbons. I wouldn’t keep a backup of this, but I will try to get the next batch. RECAP: I have come back to this bottle and its much better than the first pour. All the notes are there, but its more full in flavor than before.

Color is a light amber gold. Thick consistency that hugs the glass. Smells like spicy cinnamon sweet raisin bread. Hits with more thick syrup texture. Taste is more of the same plus a long clean aftertaste that brings in dry fruit. Very warm but not burning. Excellent sipper.

Just tasting this again after tasting the A123. I have to say I like the A123 better. This is definitely less hot at the same proof point (almost). But it is also less flavorful and more woody. Some sweetness but not as complex as A123. The A123 has more sweet notes and coming back taste by taste was able to pick out more variety. This might be smoother, but not as enjoyable IMHO. Delicious nonetheless! Cheers!!!
