Reviewed July 2, 2024 (edited October 2, 2024)Dark amber color with copper tones. Lots of legs up here fairly quickly, but there's a sticky ring that persists and slowly drips down. The nose is a big hit of dark caramel, creamed corn, brown butter. Under that is a bit of nuttiness and ripe fruit, and a waft of milled grains and smoke. Its sweet up front and throughout, but is well balanced by a pleasant spicy warmth mid palate and just a hint of bitterness on the back end. Soft but a bit thin on the palate. Leaves me thinking of a dark chocolate covered almond rolled in cacao powder and drizzled with molasses. Its got plenty to be interested in but lacks a bit in nuance and harmony. I'm a fan and am excited to try it in a Manhattan! Update: Wonderful Manhattan, solid old fashioned but i got a little overzealous on the overall rating. -

Reviewed August 18, 2023Really surprised how much I enjoy this. Didn't expect much from a local PA bourbon. It's all corn, all day, and definitely has a little kick of smoke too. Got it as a gift, but I would definitely pay retail for this. Good bourbon made right down the road. I'm a sucker for Pittsburgh made 🤷🏼♂️ -

Reviewed July 2, 2023Nose is full of vanilla and wood/smoke, with hints of campfire. Palate is more of the same with a dry but lingering finish. Great bourbon from a great local distillery -
