This is very enjoyable. Very classic notes on both the nose and tastes and drinks at a higher proof than in the 80s but in a good way. Nice warming finish and some great spice given the high rye nature. Just a tad thin and not complex, but for the proof the viscous nature holds up. It’s not complex at all but this should have wide appeal and very approachable. One that should be in the bar because of that. Enjoyable.

Cinnamon-wheat bread. Pear and cucumber on the nose. Tastes less complex, maybe a plain spiced dry cookie. One of those at Christmas that you don’t need again and probably needs some milk to dip in

Nose: light– cherry, orange, woody
Palate: simple, light, mild pepper, very oaky. Dry mouthfeel. I was expecting more complexity from a sour mash, but I didn’t find that here.
Finish: very short finish, it just disappears
