Nose - very corn forward - Heavy ethanol - Light citrus note, leaning orange here. Palate - Shockingly sweet on the first sip—Deliciously sweet. - Very vanilla forward. If it weren’t for the hint of baking spices, I’d call this 1 dimensional - After the shock of the sweet creamy vanilla not much else is there. Finish - Very mild cinnamon - slow and low burn

Nose - vanilla - Cinnamon - Feint oak - Just a hint of citrus, orange or mandarin Palate - ripping vanilla, almost like a fresh vanilla bean - As it sits and opens up, the oak becomes a little more present with just a hint of peppercorn and tobacco - Similar to the nose I get just a hint of citrus on the palate. - No spice Finish - Mild finish, especially considering cask strength - More peppercorn than cinnamon This is a good pour but nothing bold or distinct about it. I wish I had a bottle of regular makers to compare it against 3.9

Coming back to try another review a few years into my whiskey journey. Nose - a fruity sweetness from first blush - Apple notes, a bit floral Palate - delicate, sweet, vanilla. No sharp edges here. Very mild, very balanced - Feint cinnamon spice Finish - very light burn that doesn’t stick around. Short finish There’s just not enough here for me. I like uniqueness, bold flavor, and higher proof. There nothing offending in Buffalo trace but also nothing remarkable.

Nose - cherry - Charred wood - Subtle medicinal notes - Picking up just a hint of florals Palate - Rich with oak undertones - Few sips in and I start to get cardamom, peppercorn, and green tea - Bold flavor, with unique notes as the bottle opens up. Finish - long, warm finish that builds as time passes rather than fading.

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A124
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 14, 2024 (edited June 10, 2024)Nose - orange - vanilla - Cinnamon - The proof is noticeable on the nose. Palate - orange - Strong oak - Can definitely tell it’s barrel proof from the heat. The heat almost numbs the other notes. But there’s an underlying sweetness that pops up to say hello when you chew on it. Finish - long finish, very dry, medium burn
