Nikka Whisky From the Barrel

A wonderful blend. Spicy, oaky, with so much going on. Deep cooked sugars also combined with cooked fruit, strong malt hints of coffee. Mmmm, it comes back full of baking spices and maybe a hint of char. This is so good, but bold. If you do not like oak spice, this is maybe not your dram.

What a great smelling whiskey, the nose on this was incredible. We did a review on this @thewhiskeyboyspodcast and couldn’t be happier with the nose. The flavors were impressive and easy on the palate, I felt like I was getting a pumpkin spice cake flavor that was finished with a floral and fruity undertone. Worth the price. Would buy again.

Now this whisky is better than I expected it to be, I thought the peat would be overpowering but it's not at all - its quite subtle and adds some complexity to the drink. It's pretty smooth too which is surprising for the 51.4% alcohol. Overall a very solid whisky, will keep this one in my collection for sure
