Another winner (in my book) from Noble Oak. I love their bourbon and this Rye...what unique spin with the port wine cask. It has tremendous depth, easy on the spice, terrific at 48%, and very nicely enjoyed neat. I find it hard to decipher that it's a rye - reminds me of some experimental cask bottlings from the Single Malt world like a Glenmorangie.
Maple, tree bark, menthol on the nose. Syrupy mismash of spices and fruit-ish notes on the taste and a dry unpleasant finish. Just not a good bottle, especially for the price.
