Reviewed November 22, 2021I think the crowd is too hard on Ojo. This is approachable, low proof, entry level mezcal. Like a par 3, 9 hole golf course… sometimes you want to leave the bag at home and just carry a 7 iron. I don’t fault this sip. It’s almost grappa-like in character. -

Reviewed February 16, 2021If you want to know what a mezcal tastes like, the most basic idea of it, this is it. Flavor profile-wise, it’s a pretty mild or even commercial mezcal. It’s also thick, which makes it feel very inexpensive. Verdict: commercial and barely has any taste. -

Reviewed November 1, 2020Lightly smoky. Would be a wonderful wonderful smoky mez if it were only aged longer as it still has the jovenesque sharp gasoline bite to it. Tried in Mexico.
